This is a clinical analysis of 12 cases of congenital gastric outlet obstruction which had been experienced from January 1982 to December 1990 at the department of pediatric surgery, Seoul National university Hospital.
@ES The result were as follows:
@EN 1) There were 8 males and 4 females, the male to female ratio was 2 : 1.
2) The types of obstruction were as follows: pyloric web 5 cases(41.7%), antral web 4 cases (33.3%), pyloric stricture 2 cases(16.7%), ectopic pancreas at gastric antrum 1 cases(8.3%).
3) Mean age on admission was 524±445 days.
4) Birth weight was all normal except 1 cases(8.3%) of ectopic pancreas associated with esophageal atresia.
5) Main clinical symptoms were vomiting in 12 cases9100%), melena and hematemesis in 2 cases(16.7%), diarrhea in 1 cases(8.3%).
6) Associated anomalies were in 2 cases(16.7%).
7) There was no postoperative complication and motality.
